Job Description

Position Summary:

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for achieving revenue generation and gross profit margin by implementing sales plans with new and existing accounts using the telephone and internet primarily.  The ISRs mission is to drive demand and revenue around SEDs core business by driving specific sales programs, outbound calling, and prospecting to grow SEDs market share and footprint extension.

 

The ISR will build direct relationships with clients and work closely with and leverage the selected channel partners to maximize revenue opportunities within assigned accounts. The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for the performance of all sales activities for assigned accounts.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Executing sales strategy and performing inside sales activities, including:
    • Maintains sales volume, product mix, inventory levels and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
    • Meets or exceeds activity metrics for outbound calls, appointments set, opportunities added, and prospecting time.
    • Lead Generation and Qualifying Leads
    • Dormant user and account reactivation
    • Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
    • Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained. Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers.
    • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
    • Coordinates customer product demonstrations and training.
  • Maintain a database of customers and qualified leads/prospects through referrals, telephone canvassing, email, and networking. Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, completed transactions, and follow-up activities.
  • Assists in the implementation of directed marketing plans as needed.
  • Responsible for sourcing and developing customer relationships and referrals.
  • Responsible for identifying and building effective methodologies with customers that maximize revenue and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
    • Respect prospect and customer communication preferences including requests for restrictions on the type and frequency of contact.
    • Plan and schedule visits to existing accounts and to prospect new leads as appropriate.

 

  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet SEDs Core Values and Customer Relations Philosophy.
    • Work to achieve customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with company vision and values
    • Maintain knowledge of SED operations, pricing, purchasing and decision making processes
    • Sells consultatively and makes recommendations to prospects and customers of the various solutions SED offers to complement their business needs and solve issues.
    • Build trust, value others, communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on the customer, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity.
    • Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all support departments.

 

  • Read emails from credit, marketing and purchasing and maintain files of all current price sheets and promotions. 
  • Attend all product training sessions held. 
  • As assigned, represent company at trade shows and events to promote products.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Entry Level: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Will also consider candidates with no working experience and who are within 6 months of obtaining their Associate Degree.  Preferred Majors: Marketing, Business Management, Sales

 

Experienced: Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or governmental documents. Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the public. While not required, written and verbal fluency in Spanish and Portuguese is preferred.

 

Mathematical Ability:

Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Apply concepts of business statistics.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills:

Demonstrates the ability to use tools and software to effectively carry out day-to-day activities including: Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook and CRM software
